A Committee to Strengthen Bilateral Economic Cooperation

India and the Netherlands today announced the establishment of the India–Netherlands Joint Trade and Investment Committee (JTIC) through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), marking an important milestone in further strengthening bilateral trade, investment, and economic cooperation between the two countries. The MoU, signed between Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of Republic of India and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, was formally announced today on the occasion of the visit of the Dutch Foreign Minister H.E. David van Weel to India and his bilateral meeting with the Union Minister of External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar.

The MoU provides for establishment of the JTIC, a formal institutional framework for regular dialogue and cooperation on trade and investment matters. The JTIC will serve as a dedicated mechanism to review bilateral trade relations, promote two-way investments, address investment and trade barriers, and explore collaboration in sectors of mutual interest.

Under the MoU, the JTIC will meet annually, alternately in India and the Netherlands, ensuring continuity and sustained engagement at the institutional level. The JTIC will be co-chaired by Additional Secretary, Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of India and the Director General (Foreign Economic Relations), Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Netherlands and would comprise delegations of both sides consisting of government officials and other members as designated. The objectives of the JTIC are to:

Contribute to identification and elimination of trade and investment barriers;

Contribute to identification of trade and investment facilitation measures, including in the focus areas of cooperation;

Promote interaction between various Chambers of Commerce and Industry between the two countries; especially in Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME); and

Explore enhancement of cooperation in sectors of mutual interest including organizing consultations between the private sector and the governments, where required, for enhancing bilateral trade and investment flows including exchange of technical knowhow and transfer of technological innovation especially in the small and micro sector.

The signing of the MoU reflects the shared commitment of India and the Netherlands to deepen their economic partnership, foster resilient and diversified supply chains, and promote sustainable and inclusive growth. It also complements ongoing bilateral and multilateral engagements, reinforcing the strategic dimension of India–Netherlands relations.

Both sides expressed confidence that the JTIC, established under the MoU, will play a pivotal role in advancing mutually beneficial trade and investment outcomes.

भारत और नीदरलैंड्स ने आज एक समझौता ज्ञापन (एमओयू) के माध्यम से भारत-नीदरलैंड्स संयुक्त व्यापार और निवेश समिति (जेटीआईसी) की स्थापना की घोषणा की। यह दोनों देशों के बीच द्विपक्षीय व्यापार, निवेश और आर्थिक सहयोग को और मजबूत करने की दिशा में एक महत्वपूर्ण और ऐतिहासिक कदम है। नीदरलैंड्स के विदेश मंत्री श्री डेविड वान वील की भारत यात्रा और केंद्रीय विदेश मंत्री डॉ. एस. जयशंकर के साथ उनकी द्विपक्षीय बैठक के अवसर पर आज भारत सरकार के वाणिज्य एवं उद्योग मंत्रालय और नीदरलैंड्स के विदेश मंत्रालय के बीच हस्ताक्षरित समझौता ज्ञापन की औपचारिक घोषणा की गई।

इस समझौता ज्ञापन में जेटीआईसी की स्थापना का प्रावधान है, जो व्यापार और निवेश मामलों पर नियमित बातचीत और सहयोग के लिए एक औपचारिक संस्थागत ढांचा है। जेटीआईसी द्विपक्षीय व्यापार संबंधों की समीक्षा करने, दोनों पक्षों के बीच निवेश को बढ़ावा देने, निवेश और व्यापार संबंधी बाधाओं को दूर करने और पारस्परिक हित के क्षेत्रों में सहयोग की संभावनाओं का पता लगाने के लिए एक समर्पित तंत्र के रूप में कार्य करेगा।

समझौता ज्ञापन के तहत जेटीआईसी की वार्षिक बैठक बारी-बारी से भारत और नीदरलैंड्स में होगी, जिससे संस्थागत स्तर पर निरंतरता और निरंतर जुड़ाव सुनिश्चित होगा। जेटीआईसी की सह-अध्यक्षता भारत सरकार के वाणिज्य एवं उद्योग मंत्रालय के वाणिज्य विभाग के अतिरिक्त सचिव और नीदरलैंड्स के विदेश मामलों के मंत्रालय के महानिदेशक (विदेशी आर्थिक संबंध) करेंगे। इसमें दोनों पक्षों के प्रतिनिधिमंडल शामिल होंगे, जिनमें सरकारी अधिकारी और नामित अन्य सदस्य शामिल होंगे। जेटीआईसी के उद्देश्य निम्नलिखित हैं-

1. व्यापार और निवेश संबंधी बाधाओं की पहचान और उन्हें दूर करने में योगदान देना;

2. सहयोग के प्रमुख क्षेत्रों सहित व्यापार और निवेश को सुगम बनाने के उपायों की पहचान में योगदान देना;

3. दोनों देशों के विभिन्न वाणिज्य और उद्योग चैंबर्स के बीच समन्वय को बढ़ावा देना; विशेष रूप से सूक्ष्म, लघु और मध्यम उद्यमों (एमएसएमई) के क्षेत्र में;

और

4. पारस्परिक हित के क्षेत्रों में सहयोग बढ़ाने के लिए संभावनाओं का पता लगाने, जिसमें आवश्यकतानुसार निजी क्षेत्र और सरकारों के बीच परामर्श आयोजित करना शामिल है, ताकि द्विपक्षीय व्यापार और निवेश प्रवाह को बढ़ाया जा सके, जिसमें तकनीकी जानकारी का आदान-प्रदान और तकनीकी नवाचार का हस्तांतरण शामिल है, विशेष रूप से लघु और सूक्ष्म क्षेत्र में।

समझौता ज्ञापन पर हस्ताक्षर भारत और नीदरलैंड्स की अपनी आर्थिक साझेदारी को मजबूत करने, अनुकूल और विविध आपूर्ति शृंखलाओं को बढ़ावा देने और सतत व समावेशी विकास को बढ़ावा देने के लिए साझा प्रतिबद्धता को दर्शाता है। यह भारत-नीदरलैंड्स संबंधों के रणनीतिक आयाम को मजबूत करते हुए द्विपक्षीय और बहुपक्षीय जुड़ावों को भी पूरा करता है।

दोनों पक्षों ने इस बात पर विश्वास व्यक्त किया कि समझौता ज्ञापन के तहत स्थापित जेटीआईसी पारस्परिक रूप से लाभकारी व्यापार और निवेश परिणामों को आगे बढ़ाने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाएगा।

CineDubs: Cinema Without Barriers

The CineDubs app enables moviegoers to enjoy films inside theatres in their preferred language—irrespective of the language in which the film is being projected. With a simple and seamless process, users can:

Indian business delegation visited Russia 

Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “Viksit Bharat @2047” (Developed India @2047), an Indian trade delegation met with Dr. Georgy L. Muradov, Advisor to the Russian President Vladimir Putin and Deputy Prime Minister of the Crimea Region, along with Rajesh Baga and Gurdeep Singh Gosha, to strengthen international relations.

As part of the Multi-Nation Contact Mission, the Indian business delegation visited Russia (Moscow) from October 10 to 14. The purpose of this visit was to deepen India’s partnerships with Central Asia, Uzbekistan, and Russia. The trip concluded with a joint meeting in Moscow involving diplomats, policymakers, and business groups, where discussions focused on new avenues of trade, innovation, and collaboration — all aligned with the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s “Developed India @2047” vision.

During the visit, BJP Vice President Mr. Rajesh Baga and panelist Mr. Gurdeep Singh Gosha held special meetings with senior Russian officials, including Mr. Manuilov, Deputy Head of the Department of International Relations, and Ms. Daria Pustovalova, along with leaders of business councils. The discussions centered around expanding India’s “Vocal for Local” initiative towards a “Local for Global” approach.

Under this initiative, plans are being made to hold future global trade exchange programs involving business representatives from Punjab and other Indian states to promote their production capabilities internationally — in line with the Prime Minister’s vision of “Viksit Bharat @2047.”

The Swadeshi Jagran Manch is providing a strong platform for this mission, aiming to enhance the export potential of India’s farmers, traders, artisans, food industries, and other industrial sectors in global markets.

H.E Mr. Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit

New Delhi:1st September 2025: (PIB Delhi//International Screen)::

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi met today with the President of the Russian Federation, H.E Mr. Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit in Tianjin, China.

The leaders discussed bilateral cooperation, including in the economic, financial, and energy sectors and expressed satisfaction with the sustained growth in bilateral ties in these areas.

The two leaders also discussed regional and global issues, including the latest developments concerning Ukraine. Prime Minister reiterated his support for the recent initiatives that have been taken to address the conflict in Ukraine, and emphasized the need to expedite a cessation of the conflict, and find a durable peace settlement.

The two leaders reaffirmed their support for further strengthening of the Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership between the two countries. Prime Minister conveyed to President Putin that he was looking forward to receiving him in India for the 23rd Annual Summit later this year.

श्री मोदी ने एक्‍स पोस्ट में कहा:

“अफ़ग़ानिस्तान में आए भूकंप से हुई जान-माल की हानि से मुझे गहरा दुख हुआ है। इस कठिन घड़ी में हमारी संवेदनाएं और प्रार्थनाएं शोक संतप्त परिवारों के साथ हैं   और हम घायलों के शीघ्र स्वस्थ होने की कामना करते हैं। भारत प्रभावित लोगों को हर संभव मानवीय सहायता और राहत प्रदान करने के लिए तत्पर है।”

प्रधानमंत्री तियानजिन, चीन में 25वें एससीओ शिखर सम्‍मेलन में शामिल हुए

 एससीओ सदस्य देशों ने तियानजिन घोषणा को अपनाया

प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेन्द्र मोदी ने 31 अगस्त से 1 सितम्‍बर 2025 तक चीन के तियानजिन में आयोजित शंघाई सहयोग संगठन (एससीओ) के राष्ट्राध्यक्षों की परिषद की 25वीं बैठक में भाग लिया। शिखर सम्मेलन में एससीओ विकास रणनीति, वैश्विक शासन में सुधार, आतंकवाद-निरोध, शांति और सुरक्षा, आर्थिक और वित्तीय सहयोग तथा स्‍थायी विकास पर उपयोगी चर्चा हुई।

शिखर सम्मेलन को संबोधित करते हुए, प्रधानमंत्री ने एससीओ ढांचे के अंतर्गत सहयोग को मज़बूत करने के भारत के दृष्टिकोण पर प्रकाश डाला। इस संबंध में, उन्होंने कहा कि भारत तीन स्तंभों - सुरक्षा, संपर्क और अवसर - के तहत व्यापक कार्य करना चाहता है। शांति, सुरक्षा और स्थिरता को प्रगति और समृद्धि की कुंजी बताते हुए, उन्होंने सदस्य देशों से आतंकवाद के सभी रूपों से लड़ने के लिए दृढ़ और निर्णायक कार्रवाई करने का आह्वान किया। प्रधानमंत्री ने आतंकवाद के वित्तपोषण और कट्टरपंथ के खिलाफ मिलकर कार्य करने की आवश्यकता पर बल दिया। पहलगाम आतंकवादी हमले के बाद सदस्य देशों की मज़बूत एकजुटता के लिए धन्यवाद देते हुए, उन्होंने ज़ोर देकर कहा कि आतंकवाद से निपटने में कोई दोहरा मापदंड नहीं होना चाहिए और समूह से आग्रह किया कि वह सीमा पार आतंकवाद को बढ़ावा देने और उसका समर्थन करने वाले देशों को जवाबदेह ठहराएं।

विकास को बढ़ावा देने और विश्वास निर्माण में कनेक्टिविटी की भूमिका पर प्रकाश डालते हुए, प्रधानमंत्री ने कहा कि भारत चाबहार बंदरगाह और अंतर्राष्ट्रीय उत्तर-दक्षिण परिवहन गलियारे जैसी परियोजनाओं का पुरज़ोर समर्थन करता है। उन्होंने स्टार्ट-अप, नवाचार, युवा सशक्तिकरण और साझा विरासत के क्षेत्रों में अवसरों की भी चर्चा की, जिन्हें एससीओ के अंतर्गत आगे बढ़ाया जाना चाहिए। प्रधानमंत्री ने लोगों के बीच बेहतर संबंधों और सांस्कृतिक समझ को बढ़ावा देने के लिए समूह के भीतर एक सभ्यतागत संवाद मंच शुरू करने का प्रस्ताव रखा।

Prime Minister participates in the 25th SCO Summit in Tianjin, China

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi participated in the 25th Meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), held in Tianjin, China, from 31 August to 1 September 2025. The Summit witnessed productive discussions on SCO Development Strategy, Reform of Global Governance, Counter-Terrorism, Peace and Security, Economic and Financial Cooperation, and Sustainable Development.

Addressing the Summit, Prime Minister highlighted India’s approach to strengthening cooperation under the SCO framework. In this regard, he noted that India seeks greater action under three pillars – Security, Connectivity and Opportunity. Emphasising that peace, security and stability remain key to progress and prosperity, he called upon member countries to take firm and decisive action to fight terrorism in all its manifestations. Prime Minister underlined the need for coordinated action against terror financing and radicalization. Thanking member countries for their strong solidarity in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack, he emphasized that there should be no double standards in dealing with terrorism and urged the group to hold countries who perpetrate and support cross-border terrorism accountable.

Highlighting the role of connectivity in fostering development and building trust, Prime Minister stated that India strongly supported projects such as Chabahar port and International North-South Transport Corridor. He also spoke about opportunities in the fields of start-ups, innovation, youth empowerment and shared heritage, which must be pursued under the SCO umbrella. Prime Minister proposed commencing a Civilizational Dialogue Forum within the group to foster greater people-to-people ties and cultural understanding.

Prime Minister expressed support for the reform-oriented agenda of the group. In this regard, he welcomed the setting up of centres to deal with organized crime, drug trafficking and cyber security. He called for a similar approach by the group to reforming multilateral institutions, including the United Nations. Full address of PM may be seen here [Link].

Prime Minister thanked President Xi Jinping for his warm hospitality and congratulated him for the successful organization of the Summit. He also congratulated Kyrgyzstan on taking over the next Presidency of SCO. At the conclusion of the Summit, the SCO Member countries adopted the Tianjin Declaration.

On behalf of the United States, I extend my warmest greetings to the people of Uzbekistan on their Independence Day on September 1.

For 34 years, the United States has stood by Uzbekistan’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and independence. The United States is deeply proud of the progress of our strategic partnership with Uzbekistan, which has fostered trade and business ties between our two countries and furthered cooperation in a number of areas. We applaud Uzbekistan’s decision to become a full member of the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS, its continued cooperation on illegal immigration, and the strong security cooperation between our countries.

Now as Uzbekistan celebrates its independence, the United States remains committed to enhancing friendship and promoting prosperity for both the United States and Uzbekistan.

इस वर्ष, हम तीन दशकों से भी अधिक समय से चली आ रही स्लोवाक स्वतंत्रता और अमेरिका-स्लोवाक मैत्री का सम्मान करते हैं। अगली पीढ़ी के F-16 विमानों में स्लोवाकिया के निवेश से लेकर इंडियाना के साथ स्लोवाकिया की मज़बूत राजकीय साझेदारी और नाटो के पाँच प्रतिशत रक्षा व्यय लक्ष्य को पूरा करने के स्लोवाकिया के संकल्प तक, हम एक ऐसे रक्षा संबंध का जश्न मनाते हैं जो नाटो को मज़बूत करता है, स्लोवाकिया की आत्मरक्षा को बढ़ाता है, और एक ऐसे यूरोप के निर्माण में योगदान देता है जो अधिक मज़बूत, अधिक एकजुट और शांति एवं स्वतंत्रता की रक्षा के लिए बेहतर रूप से तैयार है।

On behalf of the United States of America, I extend warm wishes to the people of Slovakia as you celebrate your Constitution Day.

This year, we honor more than three decades of Slovak independence and enduring U.S.-Slovak friendship. From Slovakia’s investment in next-generation F-16s, to Slovakia’s robust State Partnership with Indiana, and Slovakia’s pledge to meet NATO’s five percent defense spending goal, we celebrate a defense relationship that strengthens NATO, enhances Slovakia’s self-defense, and contributes to a Europe that is stronger, more united, and better prepared to safeguard peace and freedom.

We are equally proud of our cooperation to secure our countries’ sovereign borders, as well as our expanding economic partnership – including civil-nuclear cooperation and deepening trade and energy ties – which creates lasting opportunities for growth on both sides of the Atlantic.
